Hi everyone, I’m Suke-san! I’m a Japanese local who loves traveling around my home country. Because I studied abroad in Boston for a year, I am very passionate about using my English to help international visitors experience the absolute best that Japan has to offer.
Today, I want to talk about one of the most exclusive hidden gems inside the Tokyo Disney Resort: Terme Venezia, the luxurious pool and spa facility located inside Tokyo DisneySea Hotel MiraCosta.
As an investor who holds shares in Oriental Land (the company that operates Tokyo Disney Resort), I am always paying close attention to their level of hospitality and whether their experiences truly justify the cost.
If you are lucky enough to secure a room at Hotel MiraCosta—which is famously one of the hardest hotels to book in all of Japan—you will likely ask yourself a very realistic question: “Since the theme park is literally right outside my window, is it actually worth paying an extra fee to swim in a hotel pool?”
My partner and I recently visited to find out for ourselves. In this completely honest review, I will share my final verdict, give you a look at the inside facilities, and explain a few crucial Japanese pool rules that international guests absolutely need to know before packing their swimsuits.
Let’s dive right in!
Overall Review & Verdict: Is It Worth the Extra Cost?

| Category | My Rating | My Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Overall | I gave it 4.5 stars for one realistic reason: if this is your very first time visiting Tokyo DisneySea, you probably don’t need to sacrifice your park time for the pool. However, if it is your second visit or more, it is an absolute must-do! | |
| Room & Comfort | Absolutely fantastic. It is the highest level of comfort. | |
| Service & Hospitality | Flawless. There is absolutely nothing to complain about here. | |
| Food & Dining | The poolside bar serves standard, high-quality drinks. Just keep in mind that there are no Disney character-themed items on the menu here. | |
| Location & Vibe | You reach the pool by walking down the incredibly luxurious corridors of Hotel MiraCosta. I personally love its secluded, exclusive location and vibe. | |
| Value for Money | Personally, I think the cost performance is actually excellent for a luxury resort pool of this caliber. |
Getting to the Pool & The Reception Desk
Inside Hotel MiraCosta, the pool facility is simply listed as “Spa & Pool” on the directory signs.

To get there, you will need to walk down a long, elegant corridor from the main lobby and take the South Elevator. There are clear guide signs along the way (like the one in the picture above!), so you can basically reach your destination without getting lost.
Just keep in mind the simple floor layout: the main hotel lobby is on the 2nd floor, and the Spa & Pool is located down on the 1st floor.
Hotel MiraCosta Pool & Spa Fees
- Adults (12+): ¥3,000 (Summer: ¥4,000)
- Children (4-11): ¥1,500 (Summer: ¥2,000)
- Under 3: Free
What’s Included: The fee includes a secure locker and plush towels, which you can exchange for fresh ones as much as you need. (Prices are as of February 2025 based on the official Disney website).
From the Entrance to the Locker Room
By following the elegant signs along the hotel corridors, you will easily find your way to the pool’s reception desk.

Once you pay the admission fee mentioned above, the real fun begins—it is finally time to head inside and get ready for the pool!
Secure Shoe Lockers

After passing the reception desk, you will walk through a luxurious hallway to the shoe lockers. Each locker has its own key, so you never have to worry about your shoes being misplaced or taken by mistake. Once you store your shoes, it is time to head inside!
Locker Room Amenities

While the locker room and pool space are more compact compared to the massive theme park outside, they are rarely crowded, giving the area a very private and spacious feel.
The Travel-Saver

There is a swimsuit spin-dryer (dehydrator) available. This is a lifesaver for travelers who need to pack their swimsuits for the next day without worrying about hygiene or a wet suitcase!
The Pool Experience: A Regal Escape

The area is quiet, sophisticated, and perfectly climate-controlled. Even in the middle of winter, it feels warm and comfortable. There are three main pools to enjoy:
The Deep Pool (Depth: 120cm)

This is the largest and deepest pool. It has a straight stretch of about 15 meters, making it fun for actual swimming. Looking up at the ornate ceiling and pillars from the water is incredibly relaxing.
The Shallow Pool (Depth: 50cm)

A dedicated area for children, kept at the exact same comfortable temperature as the main pool.
The Jacuzzi (Depth: 50cm)

A warm, bubbling pool that is perfect for relaxing and reheating your body after a swim.
Safety and Services
Small children can rent arm floats for free. There is always at least one lifeguard on duty, and they are very attentive. I actually saw a child try to enter the water alone, and the lifeguard politely but firmly stopped them, asking the parents to accompany them. It is an incredibly safe environment.
Hippocampi: The Poolside Bar

You can walk straight into this bar in your wet swimsuit! It looks subtle from the outside, but inside is an open, relaxing counter.
Menu and Pricing

Drinks start at around ¥900 for a Coke. It definitely includes what we Japanese locals jokingly call the “Disney Dream Tax,” but since you made it this far, you might as well treat yourself!
What We Ordered

We ordered the “Special Drink” and a “Caffe Latte.” You place your order, and the staff brings it directly to your poolside table—the ultimate luxury!
- Special Drink: This comes with flavored ice cubes, meaning your drink never gets watered down as the ice melts. It stays delicious until the very last drop!
- Caffe Latte: This was rich and flavorful, and a big surprise—it comes with free refills! I definitely did not hesitate to order a second cup.
Ultimate Poolside Relaxation
You can also bring the free rental bath towels right up to your poolside table or lounge chair.

And here is one of the best parts about the hospitality here: if your towel gets wet while you are relaxing by the pool, you can simply grab a brand-new, dry bath towel when heading back to the locker room (completely free of charge, of course!). It is the perfect way to stay warm and comfortable.
Poolside Restrooms

When it comes to public pools, the cleanliness of the restrooms is always a major concern, right? Well, the conclusion is: they were exceptionally clean.

- Thoughtful Details: There is a foot-washing station you can use when entering and exiting the restroom area.
- Dedicated Slippers: Although not pictured, dedicated bathroom slippers are neatly arranged for use, ensuring maximum hygiene and comfort.
As an adult, it’s easy to think, “Is a pool really worth the effort?” But the level of cleanliness and care here makes it highly recommended!
The Spa (Japanese Public Bath)

My morals (and the strict Japanese privacy rules!) prevented me from taking photos inside the spa… but here is what the entrance to the men’s side looks like.

- Intimate Space: The inside of the spa is quite compact—almost to the point where it might feel a bit awkward if many other people were in there with you.
- Regal Atmosphere: There is only one Jacuzzi-style bath, but you will be completely overwhelmed by the luxurious decorations on the pillars and walls. It honestly felt like bathing in a royal palace!
We spent a total of 1.5 hours in the pool and the spa. During that time, we only saw 5 adults and 2 kids at the pool, and exactly 0 people in the spa. Everyone left the pool quite quickly, so we basically had the place to ourselves most of the time (laughs).
Vanity Area & Amenities

Here is a look at the vanity area (powder room) located near the locker rooms.
- Amenities Provided: Hairdryers are neatly set up for use. Bottled water is free for the taking, and cotton swabs and hairbrushes are fully stocked.
- Bring Your Own Skincare: Note: They do not provide skincare items like facial lotion or moisturizer, so please bring your own if you need them!
- Convenience: There is also a restroom right next door, so you can easily use it after changing without having to walk back to the pool area.
Once you are done getting ready, simply drop your used bath towels and face towels into the return bin by the exit, and you are good to go!

Bonus Tips & Hidden Secrets
Here are a few extra fun facts about the pool and spa at Hotel MiraCosta!
Secret View of the Venetian Gondolas

Actually, you can see the Venetian Gondolas attraction right from the Spa & Pool reception area! If you get close to the window frame, you get a really cool, exclusive view of the boats.

Summer Exclusive: The Outdoor Pool

While you can’t go outside during the winter, the gorgeous outdoor pool opens up during the summer season. There are even bronze statues of Disney characters like Mickey and Minnie outside, so you can definitely feel the Disney magic combined with the luxury!
Final Verdict
My wife honestly thought we wouldn’t even stay for 30 minutes, but before we knew it, 90 minutes had completely flown by. The pool is just so much more fun and relaxing than you might imagine!
To be completely honest, I can highly recommend the MiraCosta pool and spa precisely because it is so empty and peaceful. I almost don’t want more people to know about it through this article… but since it is strictly limited to staying guests, you absolutely must use it if you ever book a room here!
